TEGELTIJA: I HOPE REASON WILL PREVAIL IN VAT REVENUES DISTRIBUTION

GRADIŠKA, MAY 22 /SRNA/ – Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH Zoran Tegeltija expressed hope that reason would prevail and that the percentages for the distribution of indirect tax revenues would be resolved, as always, through an agreement within the ITA Steering Board.

"I hope that we will soon reach common percentages and mutual settlements, which has been the standard practice over the past 22 years," Tegeltija told the press in Gradiška. He pointed out that some had unfortunately tried to misuse those coefficients in order to prevent the opening of the border crossing in Gradiška. "We have come to a situation where, from one issue – the review of the coefficients, two problems are being created. I hope that reason will prevail, that joint coefficients will be determined, but also that a decision will be made to open the second border crossing in Gradiška," Tegeltija said. He added that preparations are currently underway for the opening of a new border crossing in Rača, where there is also a risk that approval for systematization will not be granted, meaning there could be two bridges but only one border crossing. Tegeltija called for politics to be excluded from these technical matters and for the ITA, Border Police, and inspection services to be allowed to do their jobs.
