MAZALICA: LAGUMDŽIJA INSULTING INTELLIGENCE OF HIS FELLOW CITIZENS AND SARAJEVO PUBLIC

BANJA LUKA, MAY 26 /SRNA/ – BiH Ambassador to the UN Zlatko Lagumdžija is making every possible effort to present the defeat of the “rogue Bosniak diplomacy” as a victory, Srđan Mazalica, head of the SNSD parliamentary caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, told SRNA.

“Caught between a political debacle in the international arena and business ambitions within BiH, Lagumdžija has begun insulting the intelligence of his fellow citizens and the entire Sarajevo public,” Mazalica said in response to Lagumdžija’s statement regarding the departure of Christian Schmidt from BiH, claiming that Banja Luka had failed to achieve its goal and that, according to him, Milorad Dodik had lost. Mazalica stressed that, in a sea of absurd claims, the only thing left for Lagumdžija to say was that Elmedin Konaković and he had actually lobbied for Schmidt’s departure, while Republika Srpska had advocated for his staying in BiH. “The truth, however, is that Lagumdžija was caught off guard by the latest developments, only unlike Konaković, he does not want to admit it publicly. To make matters worse, Bosniak political representatives suffered a crushing defeat in a diplomatic battle they did not even know was being fought,” Mazalica claimed. Their after-the-fact reasoning, he added, is today nothing more than a pathetic attempt to justify themselves to the Sarajevo public, which rightfully expects answers from them. “All of their unconstitutional abuses of foreign policy have proven futile. Their two Sarajevo members of the Presidency, the foreign minister, as well as ambassadors in New York and Washington, were of no use to them. Republika Srpska prevailed - and will keep prevailing,” Mazalica said.
