CVIJANOVIĆ: SUMMIT MARKS THE BEGINNING OF A LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP
BANJA LUKA, MAY 28 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović assessed that the European Summit on Economy and Security in Banja Luka, together with the opening of the regional office of the Gold Institute, marks the beginning of a long-term and productive partnership, while also reflecting the profound transformation in relations between Republika Srpska and the United States over the past year.
In her address to the Summit, Cvijanović thanked everyone who came to Republika Srpska to attend the event, which is organized by the Gold Institute for International Strategy, based in Washington. "We are especially grateful to General Flynn and our partners from the Gold Institute for selecting Banja Luka as the venue for this important gathering," said Cvijanović. She emphasized that through the Institute's presence in this region, people across Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the wider region—whether from politics, academia, public institutions, business, or civil society—now have the opportunity to engage directly with strategic thinking and practical experience on the defining political, economic, and security challenges of our time. "This exchange of knowledge and expertise can help shape concrete strategic, political, and regulatory solutions that strengthen political stability, drive economic growth, and ensure the long-term security of our citizens and communities," Cvijanović stated. She pointed out that none of this would have been possible without the new momentum created by the administration of the US President Donald Trump and its political platform, whose fundamental values are shared and appreciated in Republika Srpska. "Our people uphold traditional values, not as relics of the past, but as the very foundation of the future. They remind us that marriage, parenthood, family, and faith are sacred institutions - not social experiments," Cvijanović noted. She emphasized that the same applies to the state and sovereignty. "Genuine sovereignty is the right of a people to shape their own destiny, free from coercion and detached global bureaucracies. Ethnic and national identity cannot be replaced by artificially imposed uniformity; they are the living essence of a community's freedom and future. All our political battles have been consistent with this path," Cvijanović added.
