MINIĆ: WE WILL CONTINUE WITH MEASURES PROTECTING CITIZENS' LIVING STANDARDS

BANJA LUKA, MAY 29 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that the Republika Srpska Government will continue taking measures aimed at protecting citizens' living standards.

BANJA LUKA, MAY 29 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that the Republika Srpska Government will continue taking measures aimed at protecting citizens' living standards.

He has noted that the Government is monitoring the inflation rate, retail price growth, margin limits related to basic household necessities, as well as oil and petroleum product prices. "We already have the first invoices related to this. We are talking about millions for our citizens, regardless of the fact that some may downplay it. We will continue with these measures. They are not ending; this is a process that we are monitoring," Minić told the press in Banja Luka. Minić recalled that, in addition to all this, wages in Republika Srpska have also been increased. "The Government is doing everything that we currently consider realistic. We will not talk about what is abstract," Minić emphasized. Speaking about excise duties, Minić expressed hope that stabilization would be achieved, noting that a barrel of oil was priced at $ 92 this morning, and that measures producing tangible results would be pursued. "We do not want to introduce one measure after another without any effect," Minić said. Yesterday, the Republika Srpska Government adopted a decision setting profit margins for certain food products, infant and baby food, hygiene products, and medicines. The decision prescribes a maximum margin of six percent in wholesale trade and eight percent in retail trade for specified products.
