MASTILOVIĆ: BAM FIVE MILLION FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS OF THREE FACULTIES

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JUNE 3 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska Draga Mastilović said today that the Government of Srpska will invest BAM five million in the reconstruction and energy rehabilitation of the building that houses the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Agriculture of the University of Istočno Sarajevo, with the aim of providing better conditions form more than 900 students.

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JUNE 3 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska Draga Mastilović said today that the Government of Srpska will invest BAM five million in the reconstruction and energy rehabilitation of the building that houses the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Agriculture of the University of Istočno Sarajevo, with the aim of providing better conditions form more than 900 students.



After the meeting with the management of the University and the deans of the faculties, Mastilović said that this is the continuation of the investment cycle in higher education by the Government of Republika Srpska. "In the last five years, almost BAM 45 million have been or are being invested in projects in the area of Istočno Sarajevo," Mastilović pointed out. He emphasized that the strategic goal of the Government of Republika Srpska is to improve higher education and student standards so that young people stay in Srpska. "Our basig strategi goal is to keep our children in these areas. Through investmentst in infrastructure, students' standards and the quality of higher education, we want students in Republika Srpska to have the best possible conditions for education," said Mastilović. Rector of the University of Istočno Sarajevo Milan Kulić assessed that the reconstruction of the building is one of the most important projects for this higher education institution. "This was the priority of all priorities. The building was built in 1975 and there were no significant investments. With this investment, the study condition at the three faculties of an exceptional importance for the University will be significantly improved," said Kulić, noting that the University now proceeds to preparation of project documentation, implementation of public procurement and selection of contractors.
