CVIJANOVIĆ: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA SUPPORTS U.S. APPROACH

SARAJEVO, JUNE 5 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated that Republika Srpska fully agrees with the United States' approach of promoting local solutions in BiH, encouraging internal dialogue among the constituent peoples, and ensuring the full responsibility of democratically elected institutions at all levels of government.

"We fully support the efforts of the US administration aimed at reaffirming the sovereignty of BiH", Cvijanović stated. At the same time, she said it is difficult to understand the efforts of certain members of the Peace Implementation Council to keep BiH, more than three decades after the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords, in what she described as the status of the last colony in Europe. "We believe that the role of high representatives must be returned to the framework of Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Accords until the institution is fully abolished, and that the so-called Bonn powers, which represent an obstacle to internal dialogue and one of the key sources of political crises in BiH, should be immediately removed from the country's political life", Cvijanović stated on X. She emphasized that it is high time for BiH to cease being an experiment in international governance and become a country in which decisions are made exclusively by the democratically elected representatives of the constituent peoples at all levels of government, in accordance with the Constitution established under the Dayton framework.
