PALE, JUNE 7 /SRNA/ – Savo Minić has stated today in Pale that the police must have good salaries and very good equipment.

After paying tribute to members of the First Detachment of the Jahorina Special Police Brigade, Minić emphasized that they were among the most capable men who took part in the defence of the Serb people. He stressed the importance of having well-prepared fighters during those years and noted that the fact that they provided security for the then president and government demonstrated that they were among the most capable members of the force, which is also why they suffered significant losses. “Our response to that, in addition to this spiritual remembrance, must also be institutional, in the sense that our police must have good salaries, quality equipment, technical resources, and everything that the Government is currently working to provide,” Minić told the press. The First Detachment of the Special Police Brigade of the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry operated as part of the Sarajevo-Romanija Corps and, during the Defensive-Patriotic War, made immeasurable contribution to the defence of the Serb people and the creation of Republika Srpska. Members of the unit also commemorated their wartime commander, Rajko Kušić, who is remembered as a war hero as well as an outstanding athlete, a multiple Balkan and European judo champion, and a gold medalist at the Universiade.
