KURTI'S POLICE ARREST SEVERAL SERBS OVER ALLEGED WAR CRIMES

BELGRADE, JUNE 14 /SRNA/ – The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that Albin Kurti’s police arrested several Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija this morning on allegations of war crimes, which continues a policy of terror and retaliation against the Serb people.

“His police formations raided the homes of honest Serb families early this morning, around 5:00 a.m., and, using force in front of their families, detained several Serbs,” the Office cited in a statement. The statement reads that, in the village of Poneš in the municipality of Gjilan, Stanko S., an employee of the Serbia Mail Service, was detained. He had reportedly held the same position during the conflict period. Police operations were also carried out in the villages of Berevce, Gotovuša, Sevce, Pečinoće, and Viča in the municipality of Štrpce, where additional Serbs were detained. The Office stated that the individuals concerned have lived in Kosovo and Metohija for years and have never left their homes because they had nothing to hide and no reason to flee. It further alleged that the police and prosecutor’s office in Priština serve as instruments of Kurti's policies and that this institutional violation is directed against Serbs, particularly following elections as a clear display of Serb unity and solidarity. Meanwhile, the so-called Special Prosecutor’s Office in Priština announced that five individuals had been arrested as part of the investigation in the case known as “Račak Two,” which concerns suspicions of alleged war crimes against the civilian population.
