HATE SPEECH AGAINST SERBS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

BIJELJINA, JUNE 17 /SRNA/ - A large number of offensive comments directed against Republika Srpska, the Serbian people, and veterans of the Republika Srpska Army were posted beneath a video from the commemoration of the Day of the Defense of the Sarajevo-Romanija Region, published on the official Facebook account of the Republika Srpska News Agency, SRNA.

BIJELJINA, JUNE 17 /SRNA/ - A large number of offensive comments directed against Republika Srpska, the Serbian people, and veterans of the Republika Srpska Army were posted beneath a video from the commemoration of the Day of the Defense of the Sarajevo-Romanija Region, published on the official Facebook account of the Republika Srpska News Agency, SRNA.



Among other things, the offensive messages posted included: "Republika Srpska no longer exists," "the White Goods Corps," and profanities referring to a "genocidal mother," as well as other comments insulting the institutions of Republika Srpska and denying the suffering of the Serbian people during the Defensive-Patriotic War. The video published as part of the commemoration of the Day of the Defense of the Sarajevo-Romanija Region featured a statement by acting director of the Republika Srpska Centre for Research of War, War Crimes and the Search for Missing Persons, Viktor Nuždić, who said that the sacrifice of fallen soldiers obliges future generations to preserve their memory and defend Republika Srpska. The editorial board of SRNA reserves the right to remove comments containing insults, hate speech, and other inappropriate content from posts published on its social media profiles.
