KALUŽA: EU IS MAIN CULPRIT THAT BiH IS INCAPABLE OF SOLVING PROBLEMS INSTITUTIONALLY
BANJA LUKA, JULY 1 /SRNA/ - The EU is the biggest culprit as to why BiH is not capable of solving problems institutionally, because it constantly creates a situation of conflict and uses BiH as a tool for its showdown with the US, international relations expert Lučiano Kaluža told SRNA.
"By confronting the US, in an indirect way, unaware of its own moves, the EU contributed to an Italian-who was supported by the US and came from an EU country-not becoming the High Representative, and now it has ended up with an American as the acting, or rather temporary, High Representative. Through the obliviousness of their political actions, they have now contributed to the fact that, for the first time in the history of BiH, an American holds a position within the OHR," pointed out Kaluža, adding that it is tragic that 30 years after the war, the OHR still exists at all. He stated that the Peace Implementation Council /PIC/, by failing to reach an agreement, has shown that this is a temporary representative for a temporary state. "A conflict between the EU and the US is definitely evident. BiH is a proving ground for the EU, through which it wants to settle scores with the US. This is a devastating fact for us. The EU should view BiH as a partner, as a country that will be a part of it, and not as a tool for a showdown with the US," Kaluža emphasized. According to him, this shows that to the EU, BiH is insignificant in the context of equality, understanding, and acceptance as a country with a future within the EU. EU countries and the US failed to agree on the name of the new High Representative even at yesterday's session of the PIC Steering Board, and Louis Crishock was formally appointed as Acting High Representative until the final appointment of a new one.
