BUDIMIR: MoI HAS TAKEN ALL MEASURES TO ENSURE GATHERING IN POTOČARI PASSES WITHOUT INCIDENTS
SREBRENICA, JULY 11 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Interior Minister Željko Budimir said today that the Ministry of the Interior /MoI/ of Republika Srpska had taken all planned, organisational and security measures on time to ensure that the commemorative gathering in Potočari passed without incident.
Budimir and Republika Srpska Police Director Siniša Kostrešević visited today the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior Headquarters "Srebrenica 2026", which is responsible for coordinating the implementation of security measures to ensure that the commemorative gathering takes place peacefully, safely and with dignity, the Ministry of the Interior said in a statement. The Minister was briefed on the implementation of all planned and operational activities undertaken by members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior across all areas of work. The activities related to maintaining a favourable security situation, protecting all participants in the gathering, citizens and their property, as well as ensuring the unhindered flow of traffic in the area covered operationally by the Zvornik Police Administration, were also presented. "Our priority is to preserve the safety of all citizens and participants in the commemorative gathering. Police officers are carrying out their duties professionally, responsibly and with dedication, and I am confident that all planned activities will be implemented in accordance with the highest standards of police practice," Minister Budimir said. Republika Srpska Police Director Siniša Kostrešević stressed that a sufficient number of police officers had been engaged who would, during the commemorative gathering, take measures and actions within their jurisdiction, adding that the Headquarters continuously monitors the situation on the ground and coordinates the activities of all organisational units involved in providing security. The Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska appeals to all participants in the commemorative gathering and citizens to follow the instructions of police officers and thereby contribute to ensuring that the gathering passes peacefully, safely and with dignity.
