NO HIGH REPRESENTATIVE APPOINTMENT IN FORESEEABLE FUTURE; IT'S PROVEN THAT FOREIGN TUTELAGE IS NOT NEEDED

BANJA LUKA, JULY 14 /SRNA/ - It is clear that the appointment of a High Representative will not happen in the foreseeable future, and despite that, nothing unusual is happening in BiH, which proves that it can function without foreign tutelage, Acting Director of the Republika Srpska Office for International Cooperation Ana Trišić Babić said.

"From the moment a High Representative was not appointed in June, and especially after two candidates emerged, it was clear that the appointment would not happen in the foreseeable future. I am certain that it will not happen by November either, and by then we will see in which direction the political processes will develop," Trišić Babić said. She added that the most important thing is that nothing unusual is happening in BiH, that institutions are functioning, parliamentary life is continuing, and that the Council of Ministers, entity governments and all other institutions are operating. "That is the best proof that BiH can function without a High Representative and without any form of external tutelage," she posted on X. Trišić Babić noted that Republika Srpska had long ago shown that it does not depend on the Office of the High Representative. "I believe this is an opportunity for Sarajevo as well to accept the reality that a High Representative is no longer needed in this country. Instead of relying on foreign interventions, it is time for domestic institutions and democratically elected representatives of the people to assume full responsibility for political processes," she said. She pointed out that this could be an important transitional phase in which BiH would finally make a step forward towards full political responsibility and functioning without imposed solutions.
