HAGUE TRIBUNAL ACCELERATED GENERAL MLADIĆ'S DEATH

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 27 /SRNA/ — The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić sent condolences following the death of General Ratko Mladić, saying that the Hague Tribunal had accelerated his death by refusing to allow him to receive medical treatment in Serbia.

Stevandić sent condolences to the family and friends of General Ratko Mladić on his own behalf and on behalf of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. He said that Mladić's death had been accelerated by what he described as a violation of a patient's right to adequate medical treatment, according to a statement from the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. "A patient has no national or criminal status or history, but only a medical history and an obligation to receive treatment. By deciding not to allow him to go to Serbia for treatment, the Hague Tribunal accelerated Mladić's death," Stevandić stated.
