VUČIĆ: DELIĆ WAS NOTORIOUS FIGURE WHOSE MUJAHIDEEN FORCES BEHEADED SERBS

BELGRADE, AUGUST 30 /SRNA/ - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that Bosniak general Rasim Delić, who was buried with full military, state and religious honors, was a war criminal under whose command were also Mujahideen fighters who beheaded Serbs in the Ozren area.

Commenting on what he described as hypocritical statements by Bosniaks in Sarajevo regarding the legacy of General Ratko Mladić and his funeral, Vučić told reporters that Delić was commander of the Third Corps of the so-called Army of BiH and that he personally brought Muslim units from countries in the Middle East to BiH. "He called that unit El Mujahideen and attached it to the Third Corps of the so-called Army of BiH. They committed major crimes against 40 Croats in the village of Malina, in the Lašva Valley, and carried out some of the worst criminal operations against Serbs in Ozren, in the villages of Smoluća and Vozuća. There they beheaded captured Serb soldiers," Vučić said. He noted that one of the Serbs who was beheaded was Gojko Vujačić, adding that captured Serb soldiers were forced to kiss his severed head. "I am only speaking about what kind of monsters we are dealing with. Yet members of the so-called SDP, those who are in power today, these moderates who are supposedly not like the major Bosniak nationalists, actually worse than the SDA and all the others, attended his funeral," Vučić said while visiting the Danube Corridor. Vučić reminded that they all attended Delić's funeral, which was held with full state and military honors, including a ceremonial gun salute and the presence of then Islamic Community leader Mustafa Cerić. "Of course, there are always double standards on their side, because a severed Serb head is worth nothing. That is what we have to understand. I was also appalled by the cheering at one of the matches yesterday," Vučić said, adding that Serbia must nevertheless continue working towards reconciliation with Bosniaks. He said Serbs must understand Bosniaks, but that Bosniaks must also understand Serbs and should not believe that they can defeat Serbia by winning favor with someone from outside or by having someone abroad condemn Serbia. Vučić said he did not believe that Europe and most Western countries would deliver justice or abandon hypocrisy and double standards, but that he placed his hopes in a somewhat different position from the United States in the future. "We hope for that and we will fight for it," Vučić said.
