MINISTERS OSTOJIĆ AND SELAK PAY TRIBUTE TO GENERAL MLADIĆ

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Justice Goran Selak and Republika Srpska Minister of Labour, War Veterans and Disabled Persons Protection Radan Ostojić paid tribute to General Ratko Mladić at St. Luke Church in Belgrade’s Vidikovac neighbourhood, where his coffin is displayed.

After paying his respects, Ostojić told SRNA that General Mladić had shown that he could once again unite the Serb people, as he did in 1992. “Whatever we are today, that is what we will be forever. The general united us in 1992 to survive, and today, after 30 years of disagreements and divisions, he can once again unite us to overcome all obstacles,” Ostojić said. He has assessed that this will be a funeral worthy of a great man such as General Mladić and that everyone is deeply emotional today. “I sincerely hope that his grave will become a place of pilgrimage. It is important that young generations know what we did in the Defensive-Patriotic War, that they know about our bravery and heroism throughout history, our many victories, but also our great suffering,” Ostojić stressed. He says he expects a large number of people from Republika Srpska to attend General Mladić’s funeral. “Gratitude to everyone, including His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, who will serve the funeral service. This shows that Serbia and the Serb people are rising again, that no one can do anything to us, that no one can ban us from remembering our history, mourning our heroes, and being united, in solidarity. When we are like that, no one can do anything to us,” Ostojić said. He said that this must show the whole world that the Serb people is united and unbreakable, and that General Mladić did everything to ensure their survival in the territory where they wanted to destroy the Serbs. “The Serb people, although small in number, have a great and glorious history and glorious figures such as General Mladić,” Ostojić said. He stated that his address at the memorial service for General Mladić was the speech of Republika Srpska, all veterans, the War Veterans Organisation, the institutions, and the people of Republika Srpska.
