MINIĆ: SRPSKA SPECIAL UNITS TRAINED AND EQUIPPED FOR ANY MISSION

KOZARA, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has said that the special units of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs /MoI/ are trained and equipped and demonstrated during an exercise on Kozara today that they are fully prepared to carry out any task.

"The Republika Srpska Government will continue investing in the MoI in every sense of the word - in our police officers, staff, equipment and everything else," Minić told reporters on Kozara, where a tactical exercise was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment and work of the Republika Srpska MoI Training Center. Minić said the MoI's regular duties include protecting property and people and maintaining public security, but he also pointed to emerging challenges related to terrorism and other activities that had not previously been as prominent. "We want to be at the level you have seen today, so that we are always able to respond to any task," Minić stressed. The exercise was conducted as a simulation of a real-life security situation and showcased some of the capabilities and readiness of Republika Srpska MoI police officers to respond to the most complex situations. In addition to members of the Training Center, the exercise involved police officers from the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, the Gendarmerie, the Police Support Directorate, the Aviation Directorate, the Banja Luka Police Department and the Prijedor Police Department, as well as members of the Information and Communication Technologies Directorate.
