FILIPOVIĆ: NO JUSTICE FOR SERBS DUE TO BIASED BiH JUDICIARY
SREBRENICA, OCTOBER 5 /SRNA/ - No one has been held accountable for the Muslim crimes against Serb civilians in Fakovići near Srebrenica, nor for other crimes committed against Serbs in the Middle Drina region, due to the bias of the BiH judiciary, President of the Bratunac Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians Radojka Filipović said.
"Countless statements and testimonies have been given, but unfortunately no one has been held accountable for the crime and the killing of civilians, and this injustice is particularly painful for the victims’ families," Filipović stressed. She said that the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in the Middle Drina region began in April 1992 and continued throughout the summer, when a large number of Serb civilians were killed and numerous Serb villages looted and burned, until October 5, when Fakovići and Boljevići were surrounded, attacked, looted and burned, and 25 Serb residents were killed. Filipović pointed out that most of those killed were civilians, including eight women. "Members of the 28th Division from Srebrenica, commanded by Naser Orić, entered this village at noon, killing everyone they could while the population was working in the fields. They were accompanied by Muslim civilians who looted everything they could carry, while burning property they could not take, and they did not spare even the Serbian church, which they looted, desecrated and set on fire," Filipović explained. She said that today's memorial service and the lighting of candles for the repose of the souls of the Serbs killed in Fakovići paid tribute to the victims, preserved the memory of their suffering and passed on to younger generations the truth about the suffering of the Serb people in this area during three wars in the 20th century. A memorial service was held today in Fakovići near Bratunac for 49 Serb victims from the village and its hamlets along the Drina River who were killed by Muslim forces 34 years ago. Those gathered lit candles for the repose of the souls of the Serb civilians and soldiers who died, 25 of whom were killed on this day in 1992.
