NEW INTERNATIONAL GOLD FOR MILIJAŠ DISTILLERY'S D GIN
SRBAC, NOVEMBER 2 /SRNA/ – "D Gin", a London Dry Gin from the "Milijaš" distillery in Srbac, has won a gold medal at an international competition on the Portuguese island of Madeira. More than 2,200 spirits samples from 70 countries were entered.
"D Gin" ranks first on the list of gold medal winners in the London Dry Gin category. The judges' citation says it is distinguished by expressive and complex floral and herbal aromas, followed by notes of citrus and dried herbs. The distillery's founder, Maja Milijaš, told SRNA that the new award is an important confirmation of quality, especially after the gold medal it won at a competition in Frankfurt. She said it is also an encouragement to keep building the quality the distillery wants to be known for. "Frankfurt confirmed for us that quality can also be achieved in craft conditions. Portugal brought us another confirmation and a reminder that it is worth believing in what we do, without expecting success to be ours in advance," Milijaš said. She said the distillery is working hard to build the infrastructure needed to expand production, while also developing new products. She stressed that she wants the distillery to be recognized as a family business that cherishes its own values and can compete as an equal beyond the borders of BiH through its quality and know-how. "We want to expand our production capacity, strengthen our presence on the domestic market and take concrete steps toward entering foreign markets," Milijaš said. She added that, after Frankfurt, the competition in Portugal, held from October 16 to 18, was a new challenge because of the strong competition, its prestige and the make-up of the jury.
