TRIŠIĆ-BABIĆ: COOPERATION WITH AMERICA LONG-TERM STRATEGIC COMMITMENT FOR SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – Ana Trišić-Babić, Director of the Republika Srpska International Cooperation Office, stated that cooperation with the United States of America represents a clear and long-term strategic commitment for Republika Srpska.
Extending her sincere congratulations to the United States on the elections, Trišić-Babić said that America's democratic tradition, the strength of its institutions and its political culture deserve full respect, emphasizing the important role the USA plays in international relations. "We approach these relations with respect for the American state, but also with confidence in the opportunities created by renewed political communication with Washington. We recognise their importance in our shared interests, our responsibility for regional stability and the economic opportunities we wish to develop," Trišić-Babić stated. Trišić-Babić added that democratic elections carry full political and institutional significance. "At the same time, international cooperation requires continuity of interests and a responsibility to continue strengthening established trust through concrete action. It is precisely in the connection between democratic legitimacy and diplomatic consistency that we recognise the strength of the US institutions and the value of our relations with the USA," Trišić-Babić emphasized. Trišić-Babić emphasizes that Republika Srpska approaches the United States with respect and a clear intent to further develop cooperation, unlike certain politicians in the region who view US elections almost as supporters of competing teams. "We are focusing on Washington as an important political partner and on the opportunities that arise through mutual understanding and shared interests," Trišić-Babić said. Trišić-Babić expressed her gratitude to President Donald Trump for revitalizing Republika Srpska – USA relations. "We particularly appreciate the renewed political dialogue with Washington and the fact that Srpska has once again been given a place on the international stage – an opportunity for its voice to be heard and its positions and interests to be taken into account in discussions with American partners. We remain firmly committed to continuing cooperation with US President Donald Trump and his administration, confident in what we have achieved so far and with even greater expectations for what we can accomplish together in the future," Trišić-Babić stated. She added that Srpska is following with hope and great optimism diplomatic efforts aimed at international de-escalation, including contacts and agreements between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We believe that responsible diplomacy can contribute to reducing tensions, ensuring energy security and promoting economic stability, which is particularly important amid global economic disruptions," Trišić-Babić said. According to her, the Dayton Peace Agreement, the constitutional position of Republika Srpska and its competencies remain the foundation of Srpska's political activities. "Republika Srpska has already demonstrated its capacity and responsibility through democratic elections, political pluralism, the continuity of its institutions and the preservation of stability. Three decades after the Dayton, we are convinced that the time has come for political leaders to fully assume responsibility for the future of BiH, with a clear prospect of ending international political supervision exercised through the OHR. We also recognise the importance of continued cooperation with the USA in this regard, and particularly value its historic role in establishing peace and preserving stability," Trišić-Babić noted. Trišić-Babić says that Republika Srpska's intent remains clear: to continue cooperation with Washington, responsibly represent the interests of Republika Srpska and turn political opportunities into tangible results, announced the Republika Srpska International Cooperation Office. "We believe in the value of our relations, which are developing on the basis of mutual respect and a clear understanding of what we can achieve through joint efforts," Trišić-Babić concluded.
