BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik congratulated acting Rector Ranko Škrbić on the 51st anniversary of the founding and successful work of the University of Banja Luka, stressing that this higher education institution has grown into a recognized academic center and one of the pillars of educational and scientific development in Republika Srpska.
"On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the successful work and founding of the University of Banja Luka, I extend my sincere congratulations, along with expressions of deep respect for the contribution you have made over more than five decades to the development of higher education, science and academic thought," Dodik said in his congratulatory message. He said that the University of Banja Luka had become one of the pillars of Republika Srpska's educational and scientific development thanks to the dedicated work of generations of professors, researchers and associates, the continuous improvement of study programs and scientific research, and the establishment of cooperation with numerous domestic and international academic institutions. "The greatest value and strength of this university lie in the generations of educated young people and professionals who contribute to the progress of Republika Srpska through their knowledge, abilities and professional achievements, while demonstrating their competence and taking their rightful place in the academic community on an equal footing. "Confident that the University of Banja Luka will continue in the years ahead to uphold academic values, improve the quality of education and push the boundaries of scientific achievement, I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations on this significant anniversary, wishing you continued success and that you remain a source of pride for Republika Srpska," President Dodik said in his congratulatory message. The University of Banja Luka was founded on November 7, 1975, and has since grown into the leading higher education and scientific research institution in Republika Srpska. From its beginnings with five faculties and three higher schools, the university has grown to comprise 16 faculties, the Academy of Arts and the Institute of Genetic Resources. Nearly 15,000 students are enrolled in around 150 study programmes across all three cycles of study. Over more than half a century of operation, the university has contributed to educating generations of professionals, advancing scientific thought, strengthening institutions, and promoting overall social and economic development.
