ČAVOŠKI: PROVIDE ADEQUATE TREATMENT TO GENERAL MLADIĆ

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 4 /SRNA/ - Regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts /SANU/ Kosta Čavoški said that better treatment should be provided to General Ratko Mladić, who has been in a serious state of health since April in the detention hospital in Scheveningen, The Hague.

Čavoški told SRNA that Mladić has serious health problems with his kidneys, which is why he could end up on dialysis. "Mladić's kidneys are failing, and the competent prison officials, among other things, are not taking anything seriously to improve his health. Therefore, he too can be executed by 'judicial murder' much sooner than the first president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadžić, which I spoke about yesterday," said Čavoški, a retired professor at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade. General Ratko Mladić has been in the detention hospital in The Hague since April of last year, and due to his poor health, his family and defense attorneys have repeatedly requested that he be given medical treatment in freedom, but these requests have been rejected. General Mladić has neurological, cardiovascular and urological problems, which are progressively getting worse and more complicated. The former commander of the Main Staff of the Republika Srpska Army was operated on on January 8 last year in a Dutch hospital, when a pacemaker was implanted in him, and in the meantime his kidneys also failed. General Mladić, who was the commander of the Main Staff of the Republika Srpska Army, was sentenced to life imprisonment in June 2021. for alleged crimes in BiH.
