SERBDOM GATHERED TO EXPRESS UNITY AND LOVE FOR MOTHERLAND

BELGRADE, APRIL 12 /SRNA/ - Serbia's Minister for Demography and Family Care in caretaking capacity, Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, told SRNA that today at a large rally in Belgrade, Serbia, which had been silent in the previous months, spoke loudly, and that Serbdom gathered to express unity and love for the motherland.

"It was silent not because of its calculative reasons, but because it was patient, wise and responsible and because we wanted not to deepen divisions in society and not heat up already heated atmosphere," said Stamenkovski. She added that Serbia remained silent because it knew that a number of young people who were abused for political purposes and participated in the demonstrations past months would soon understand the intentions of those who tried to use them to achieve their political ambitions. "Their political ambitions would not be disputed if they were not opposed to the ambitions of Serbian society and the state of Serbia and its national interests," she said. Stamenkovski pointed out that people from different parts of Serbia came to the rally in Belgrade, but also from the centuries-old Serb-populated territories of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Republika Srpska. "Serbdom gathered, the one that has the strength and responsibility to embrace everyone and leave inter-ethnic and religious differences aside, because we are all united in our love for our homeland, because only a stable state of Serbia can guarantee peace and coexistence for all who live in these areas. It was Serbia that they wanted to destroy," she said. Commenting on the messages from Novi Pazar during the protest of students in the blockade, where the ideas of separatism were heard, she said that just today, in the sea of all topics, they remembered the "Republic of Sandzak", they are looking for some kind of autonomy for the Raška region, which is the cradle of the Serbian state. "As if there was not enough bad blood between Serbs and Bosniaks in previous decades, now they are trying to fuel some new tensions and divisions. This is not good for our, nor for their families, nor for anyone, except for those who want to tear our homeland apart," Stamenkovski stressed. She believes that today, when the foundation stone in the creation of the Movement for the People and the State is laid, a "page will be turned" and that the citizens at the rally will be part of the historical process, firmly holding the helm wheel of the Serbian ship and that they will not allow anyone to divert Serbia from that path. Stamenkovski believes that Serbia will quickly, with dedicated work, repair the consequences that remained after more than four months of blockades on the Serbian economy, the overall state and reputation of the country, and that with dedicated work, they will restore everything that was destroyed. "I have no doubts that it will be like that, especially when you see so many people in Belgrade today. They are our wind at our backs, our obligation and responsibility. They came to support their country. What else can we do but fight even harder for all these people who are with us today," said Stamenkovski.
