ČUBRILOVIĆ: AGREEMENT IS IMPORTANT AT THE BiH LEVEL, TOO

BANJA LUKA, May 10 /SRNA/ – DEMOS President Nedeljko Čubrilović underscored today the importance of reaching an agreement at the BiH level and said that all parliamentary parties must find the strength to overcome existing barriers and attend the meeting called by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.

Čubrilović stated that it is necessary to achieve a certain kind of consensus within Republika Srpska, that such an agreement is also vital at the BiH level, and that for this reason the initiatives coming from Srpska’s leadership are welcome. “We are a political option that has always advocated, in our political activity, for compromise and joint solutions—not impositions or arrangements brokered by foreign mentors,” Čubrilović told SRNA. He emphasized that such internal agreement is essential for BiH’s survival—economically, politically, and in every other respect—because only domestic consensus is genuine, lasting, and promising for everyone in BiH. Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik has invited the presidents of all parliamentary parties in BiH—both from government and opposition—to meet on May 14 in Doboj, in line with messages delivered at the UN Security Council session that BiH’s constitutional-legal crisis must be resolved by its own politicians.
