KONAKOVIĆ – THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE AMONG BOSNIAK POLITICIANS IN A VERY TOUGH COMPETITION

EAST SARAJEVO, MAY 31 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, is proving to be the biggest hypocrite in a very tough competition among Bosniak politicians, stated Staša Košarac, Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers.

Košarac told SRNA that Konaković launched an attack because he received information that an investigation had been initiated into his hiring of air conditioning installers for lobbying purposes in the United States. “Without approval from the Presidency or the Council of Ministers, without a budget or consent, he has no right to hire them even for AC maintenance in embassies, let alone for lobbying on behalf of BiH,” Košarac emphasized. Konaković, he added, is always talking about the rule of law and praising the so-called judicial system in BiH when, based on Christian Schmidt’s hallucinations, it comes to prosecuting democratically elected President Milorad Dodik. Košarac pointed out that it’s acceptable to these institutions when they convict someone like Fadil Novalić, but when someone merely considers investigating the “top diplomat of BiH” for obvious violations of numerous laws, attacks on the chief prosecutor and those same judicial institutions begin. “One must ask how Konaković received information about something that hasn’t even happened yet in the Prosecutor’s Office. Who is informing him and leaking official information? What kind of judiciary is this, where the suspect knows more than the prosecutors and investigators?” Košarac asked. According to him, this is yet another piece of evidence of how corrupted and devastated the entire judicial system at the BiH level is, ruined by numerous imposed reforms and the installation of obedient officials. “Where are all those organizations and embassies that supposedly protect judicial independence? Why are there no reactions from the OSCE? Where are the representatives of the European Commission and the countless Western embassies to condemn this illegal pressure on the judiciary? Why are the loudest voices suddenly silent when it’s not about Republika Srpska?” Košarac asked. He noted that one could only imagine what would happen if a Serb politician were involved. “Hypocrisy and double standards without limits,” Košarac concluded, commenting on Konaković’s statement that “the chief prosecutor of the unconstitutional Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, is ordering the opening of a case” against him for lobbying, claiming the information is “accurate and verified.”
