SNSD DOES NOT SUPPORT EXPERIMENTS, HASANOVIĆ CONFIRMS THAT THE BUDGET PROPOSAL IS UNFEASIBLE

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić told SRNA that the SNSD never supports any experiments and therefore will not support the proposed BiH institutions’ budget for this year, which even Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Muhamed Hasanović confirmed to be unenforceable.
She pointed out that Hasanović had sworn by the budget just two weeks ago, and today he is confirming all the objections that the Serb member of the Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, had raised in a timely and well-argued manner. "Hasanović must decide whether he wants to pursue serious politics or engage in petty political games. He should learn something; there are people he can learn from. Mrs. Cvijanović has shown consistency and clarity in defending the constitutional order and the interests of Republika Srpska, as well as in implementing policies. One must be worthy of the position one holds, and Željka Cvijanović certainly is. So, colleague, at least try to learn a little from those who know, if you already have to listen to those who neither know, nor dare, nor wish anything good for BiH," Vulić said. She added that it is clear to everyone that this is "political illusionism, not a serious document". "Either /BiH Presidency members Denis/ Bećirević and /Željko/ Komšić have only now realized that /Christian/ Schmidt's proposal is nothing but a fantasy, or there is complete chaos and incompetence between their principal and executors," Vulić stated. She emphasized that the SNSD stands firmly by the letter of the Dayton Agreement, not by the invented “spirit” which they are trying to manipulate. "The proposed law is unconstitutional and our MPs will never support it," Vulić said during a break in the session. In his address to MPs regarding the budget of BiH institutions and international obligations, Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Muhamed Hasanović, admitted that the proposed budget has shortcomings and would be unenforceable if adopted. "The budget reached me from the BiH Presidency rather late, only this morning around 10:00. Many of you asked me in informal conversations about its content and whether it contains certain shortcomings," Hasanović said, stressing that the document before MPs also has technical flaws and that it is not reasonable for him to present it. He added that the proposed budget allocates a certain amount of funds in total, but they are not broken down by institution. According to the Global Framework for Fiscal Balance and Policies in BiH for the period 2025–2027, adopted on February 24, the financing framework for BiH institutions for this year was set at BAM 1,570,500,000.
