RUSSIA AND CHINA'S SUPPORT VERY IMPORTANT, SRPSKA CONTINUES WITH DIPLOMATIC OFFENSIVE

EAST SARAJEVO, AUGUST 8 /SRNA/ – Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir says it is very important that Srpska, after Hungary, has now also received support from Russia and China before the UN Security Council, emphasizing that Srpska will continue its diplomatic offensive.

"It is very important to internationalize the issue and the problem created by the unconstitutional Court of BiH, and the fact that the rest of the Security Council has now been informed about what is happening here, which is destabilizing the situation in BiH," Budimir told the press in East Sarajevo, noting it is clear there is no unified stance in the international arena regarding the current developments in BiH. According to him, Republika Srpska will continue its diplomatic offensive through its friends to inform the global public about what has been happening and will undertake all political and democratic measures available in the coming period. He noted that the top ranking officials, including Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik himself, have said that following the scheduling and holding of a National Assembly session, it is likely that a referendum will be held on whether there is consent to such illegal actions by the BiH Court and the political process against the president of Republika Srpska. "When we talk about the international arena, it is very clear that there is no unified position on what is happening here. I keep telling this to people from other countries and major powers, as well as to our friends in Europe and members of the European Parliament – that what we're seeing is outvoting, Islamization, and re-Islamization of BiH, where one side, the Bosniak one, wants to achieve complete dominance in BiH," Budimir emphasized. Regarding the possibility of the UN Security Council holding an open session on the situation in BiH, Budimir noted that the mechanisms for scheduling such a session are different from those used for last night’s closed consultations. "However, efforts will certainly be made to push for an open session," Budimir stressed, adding that the UN Security Council is doing a lot of bilateral work with specific countries and individual leaders. Budimir emphasized that it is clear to everyone that the structure established by the Dayton Peace Agreement, three constituent peoples and two entities, is being dismantled. "This is a process of dismantling Republika Srpska, and the only safeguard protecting the Serb people in BiH are its institutions, which is precisely why they are under attack," said Budimir.
