KOMŠIĆ AND BEĆIROVIĆ'S BUDGET PROPOSAL SHOULD NOT EVEN BE CONSIDERED
SARAJEVO, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ – SNSD MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Milorad Kojić, believes that the budget proposal set in the BiH Presidency by members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović should not even be a subject of consideration, let alone of approval by MPs from Republika Srpska.
"We have unconstitutional actions by members of the BiH Presidency, and the Serb member Željka Cvijanović did not want to participate in this. We have a budget that does not have a recommendation from the Council of Ministers," Kojić told SRNA. He pointed out that procedures are being deliberately bypassed, which can be seen in the fact that certain budgetary allocations have been included for institutions that are not even legally defined. "It is completely unbelievable that certain institutions are given a budget larger than what they requested. This entirely undermines the constitutional system and the legal obligations of institutions to present their budgetary needs," Kojić warned. The SNSD MP pointed out that the attempt to secure additional funds for the Ministry of Defense budget in the Council of Ministers shows the intention of the Bosniaks for the Armed Forces to be exclusively Bosniak, which, with further armament, represents a potential security threat not only in BiH but to the entire region. "It is obvious that there are certain plans and once again unconstitutional actions," Kojić added. The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated yesterday that the budget adopted by Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić is so distorted, unprofessional, and reckless that it is clear it was created by people who have never dealt with such matters. Cvijanović stressed that her intention was for the budget of the joint institutions to be a serious document, but the other two Presidency members decided it would be a cheap, unprofessional, and unenforceable political platform, and that she therefore could not support it and voted against. "You also thought of increasing the funds for the Ministry of Defense by more than 28 million for equipment procurement, but it has not been specified what this relates to exactly. We are rightly asking ourselves whether this concerns the procurement of Iranian weaponry, given that the Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, at a meeting with the Iranian military attaché, announced the strengthening of cooperation in defense and the development of the military industry between BiH and Iran," Cvijanović said during the Presidency session.
