LJUBOJEVIĆ: OPPOSITION SHOWS ITS TRUE FACE - AGAINST PEOPLE, AGAINST REPUBLIKA SRPSKA, FOR SARAJEVO, FOR SCHMIDT, FOR UNDERMINING OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 23 /SRNA/ - The opposition in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has once again shown its true face – the face of betrayal, hypocrisy, and servitude to foreign interests, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Anja Ljubojević told SRNA

At the moment when decisions were being made on the most important issues for the future of our people – the referendum to protect Republika Srpska, to reject the imposed decisions of Christian Schmidt, and the seizure of Republika Srpska’s institutions, Ljubojević said, they chose to remain silent, not to vote, hiding behind cheap excuses at the behest of their British-German mentors. "Last night, the British Ambassador to BiH immediately gave them instructions via social media, sending a clear message on how they should behave in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which they eagerly accepted. Some immediately left the assembly hall, while others stayed to provoke," Ljubojević emphasized. She noted that, by doing so, they clearly signaled that they care neither about the will of the people nor the institutions of Republika Srpska, but only about praise from Sarajevo and Western embassies. "While the people expect unity in defending Republika Srpska, the opposition sides with those who want Republika Srpska humiliated, stripped of its powers, and broken. Such behavior is not only a political disgrace but also an open attack on the foundations of Republika Srpska. No one has the right to remain neutral when it comes to the freedom and dignity of our people," she emphasized. Ljubojević pointed out that only two options were on the table – either you are for Republika Srpska or against it – and the opposition, for who knows how many times, has shown which side it stands on. She added that yesterday’s behavior in the National Assembly and the already prepared performances clearly showed that the majority of opposition MPs are not even worthy of entering the hall, let alone making decisions. "It is a difficult situation for a people whose fate and future depend on various Vukanovićs and Crnadaks. I believe the people see and understand this, and that the general elections in 2026 will be an opportunity for voters to give an appropriate response to such shameful and treacherous behavior in a high-ranking legislative body such as the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. The elections are an opportunity for the people to tell them the truth and deliver a punishment for betrayal," Ljubojević said. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted on Friday evening a decision to hold a referendum regarding the ruling of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH to terminate the mandate of President Dodik, setting the referendum date for October 25. The referendum question reads: "Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner, Christian Schmidt, and the verdicts of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the President of Republika Srpska, as well as the decision of the CEC to terminate the mandate of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik?"
