DODIK: I WOULD LIKE TO WITNESS A JUST AMERICA

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik says he would like to witness a just America, which is why he places his hopes in the administration of President Donald Trump.

"He is a man who is now undoubtedly key to the stabilization of the entire world, someone who should rehabilitate America as a good partner, not as a global policeman," Dodik emphasized. He added that this represents a serious transition and an opportunity for America to be loved again, rather than feared. Dodik expressed his belief that President Trump is familiar with the situation in BiH and Republika Srpska's positions. He says he knows that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has spoken with Trump about the Balkans, and that the Balkans issue was also one of the topics in a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump. "I know that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his people understand this issue well – the absurdity of Bosnia," said Dodik. He pointed out that Sarajevo supported Gaza and Hamas now accusing Israel and the Jewish people of genocide. "We Serbs call Muslim Sarajevo `Middle Eastern Sarajevo,` which is accurate," Dodik stated, adding that even today there are officials in Sarajevo who attack Jews and Israel. He reminded that the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović initiated a proposal to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, because he deserves it. However, the other two Presidency members did not allow Cvijanović's proposal to be put on the agenda. According to Dodik, liberalism, communism, and pan-Islamism are all ideologies with the same goal – to dismantle traditional society. "That's why Trump is a colossal figure. He is a civilization figure. He doesn't even need to do anything – let the sanctions against Milorad Dodik stay for another 10 years. Let the current situation remain. But as someone who tries to think politically and as a human being, I believe this colossal figure is a chance for civilization to be put on the right path," Dodik said in a podcast with American journalist Lara Logan. He states that Trump is not anti-Muslim, but he is a Christian, asking why it is a problem or something that can't be respected. "I would just like to witness a just America. That's why I place hope in the new administration. They don’t have to believe anything I say. I only ask them to get informed. Once they do, let them make a decision. But not superficially, not based on theories from Sarajevo – rather, based on the actual situation. Once they see it, if they still say Dodik deserves sanctions for next hundred years, I'll respect it" said Dodik. He also mentioned that the head of the public affairs section at the US Embassy in Sarajevo during the previous administration was a local Muslim woman who served as a spokesperson for the Muslim side during the war, and asked how objectivity could be expected in such a case. The president of Republika Srpska concluded that the United States has, in essence, had no real interest in BiH for a long time, which is why previous U.S. ambassadors behaved more like local sheriffs.
