SPECIAL EDITION POSTAGE STAMP FEATURING SARA ĆIRKOVIĆ PRESENTED

ZVORNIK, OCTOBER 20 /SRNA/ - A special edition postage stamp titled Young Athletes, featuring Sara Ćirković, the European and World Boxing Champion, was presented today at the Obilić Boxing Club in Zvornik.
The General Director of Pošte Srpske /Postal Service of Srpska/, Miladin Radović, presented the Young Athletes postage stamps to Sara Ćirković and her coach, Mirko Ždralo. Ćirković expressed her satisfaction at being featured on a Pošte Srpske postage stamp, emphasizing that it is yet another source of motivation for her and a confirmation that she is on the right path. Radović stated that Sara, through her exceptional sporting achievements, has earned the honor of appearing on a postage stamp that, as an ambassador of the country, will travel around the world through letters. He stated that the postage stamp was issued in 8,000 copies, with a nominal value of BAM 1.20. Radović wished Sara many more excellent results and expressed hope that the Obilić Boxing Club, where Sara trains, will one day host the promotion of another postage stamp featuring successful athletes from this club. “Pošte Srpske recognizes the achievements of our young athletes and, in doing so, highlights the importance of youth participation in sports as they strive to achieve results as remarkable as Sara’s,” Radović said. Mirko Ždralo, Ćirković’s coach, stated that through her athletic accomplishments, Sara has pushed boundaries and made history for Republika Srpska, Serbia, and sports in general. He noted that she won the European championship title as a junior, which she confirmed at the World Youth Championship by becoming the first athlete in Serbia’s history to win a gold medal. He added that a series of Sara’s successes followed - the winning of the European Championship twice in a row, the Senior World Championship, becoming the first woman in the history of Serbian boxing to win a world medal, claiming the IBA professional belt, and qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris, all at just 21 years of age. The promotion of the postage stamp was attended by the Assistant Minister of Sports of Republika Srpska, Mitar Lazić, the President of the Boxing Federation of Republika Srpska, Zoran Rašljić, representatives of the management of Pošte Srpske, the City of Zvornik, and the Municipality of Bratunac, as well as members of the management of the “Obilić” Boxing Club.
