IVANOVIĆ: ANNULMENT OF RESULTS UNDERMINES DEMOCRATIC WILL OF VOTERS CREATES VOTER DIVISION
ZVORNIK, DECEMBER 25 /SRNA/ – Zvornik Mayor Bojan Ivanović told SRNA that by annulling the results of the early election for President of Republika Srpska at more than 50 polling stations in the city, someone is attempting to alter the electoral will of the citizens.
It is evident, Ivanović added, that there is an effort to divide the electorate and diminish the electoral capacity of citizens who support a strong and stable Republika Srpska. Ivanović reminded that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ annulled the vote at 52 out of 85 polling stations in the Zvornik area, which he described as more than symptomatic and as a direct attack on the electoral will of the people. "The CEC annulled all polling stations where the SNSD candidate for President of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, had the advantage, while in other polling stations where the elections were not repeated, the SDS candidate Branko Blanuša prevailed," Ivanović said. Emphasizing that the city of Zvornik is targeted and unjustifiably attacked after every election, local or general, Ivanović noted that all previous election results since 2007 show that democratic elections were conducted in the city without objections, just as there were no objections during these early elections, until critics appeared afterward seeking to cast doubt on the democratic nature of the process. "We must continue working on strengthening electoral democracy, and when the date for the repeat elections is set, citizens will once again go to the polls and Karan will win again, because voters will confirm the result achieved on November 23," Ivanović stressed. The Central Election Commission of BiH yesterday adopted a non-final decision to annul the early elections for President of Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units. Early elections were annulled at certain polling stations in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Vlasenica, Zvornik, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gacko, Rudo, Bileća, Milići, and Brčko.
