ŠAMAC, NOVEMBER 23 /SRNA/ – Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić said that all those who recognized the current political moment and the need for national unity turned out for today’s snap presidential election.

"This is very important, regardless of the fact that these are imposed elections and that President Milorad Dodik’s mandate is still valid," Minić told reporters in Šamac after casting his ballot at the polling station in the Pensioners’ Home. The Prime Minister of Srpska stressed that he expects the SNSD candidate Siniša Karan to achieve an exceptionally good result in today’s election for President of Republika Srpska. Minić said that he spoke with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir about the election process, adding that he is pleased that everything is proceeding without incidents and in a democratic atmosphere. Republika Srpska today held early presidential elections in which 1,264,364 voters were eligible to cast their ballots. Six candidates were in the race for President of Republika Srpska – Siniša Karan of SNSD, Branko Blanuša of SDS, Dragan Đokanović of the Alliance for a New Policy, Nikola Lazarević of the Ecological Party of Srpska, and independent candidates Igor Gašević and Slavko Dragičević.
