GRBIĆ: OBSTRUCTIONS FROM THE FBiH - LOSS FOR ENTIRE BiH ECONOMY

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – The opening of the new border crossing in Gradiška would put an end to long hours of waiting, while the obstructions coming from the Federation of BiH could cause enormous damage to the economy of entire BiH, stated Nikola Grbić, President of the Republika Srpska Transporters Association.

“Preventing the opening of the new border crossing is pure idiocy. I wonder who that person from the FBiH is who refused to vote for it, as this could have catastrophic consequences for all of BiH,” Grbić told SRNA. He emphasized that opening the new Gradiška border crossing Novi most – Gornji Varoš would make work easier for transporters in BiH, explaining that it would shorten waiting times, which have lasted up to 11 hours. “To show how serious this is, I’ll give my own example – yesterday I arrived at the Gradiška border crossing at 17:00 with a truck carrying goods from Slovenia to Albania, but crossed it at 2:00 a.m.,” Grbić said. He said that instead of allowing the opening of the new border crossing, the FBiH is obstructing it, when it should be opened to create a better atmosphere and finally put an end to long waits and drivers leaving BiH. “Transporters in BiH were looking forward to the announced opening of the new border crossing, they are disappointed now. We cannot believe that none of the politicians blocking this decision have gone to the old crossing to see the lines of trucks waiting for hours to cross the border,” Grbić stressed.
