CEC HAS SCHEDULED REPEAT VOTING IN 17 ELECTORAL UNITS

SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 31 /SRNA/ - The Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH has decided that a repeat early election for the President of Republika Srpska will be held on February 8 next year at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units.

SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 31 /SRNA/ - The Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH has decided that a repeat early election for the President of Republika Srpska will be held on February 8 next year at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units.



For the conduct of the repeat early elections, BAM 600,000 should be provided from the budget of the institutions of BiH, for which the CEC will submit a request to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers today. The polling stations are located in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Zvornik, Vlasenica, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gacko, Rudo, Bileća, Milići, and Brčko. CEC member Željko Bakalar stated at the session that a political party had submitted a request to use new electoral technologies in the repeat elections, but that the request would not be approved. On December 24, the CEC adopted a decision to annul the early election for the President of Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units.
