REGISTERING ORTHODOX CEMETERY AS STATE PROPERTY - BLATANT DISCRIMINATION AGAINST SERBS

BELGRADE, JANUARY 21 /SRNA/ - The Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy Arnaud Gouillon published documents today showing the registration of a mosque in the village of Vrapčići in the name of the Islamic Community in Mostar, and the registration of a Serbian Orthodox cemetery and chapel in the "state's" name, stating that everyone must see what discrimination against Serbs in BiH looks like.

Gouillon emphasized that the registration, carried out as part of the land "harmonization" procedure, was performed by the same official, Meadin Balavac, who, in the case of the mosque, registered it as it should be, in the Islamic Religious Community's name; and the Serbian Orthodox cemetery and chapel, which are the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, were registered as the state property. "This is a blatant example that the same law does not apply equally to everyone in BiH, and that Serbs are being systematically discriminated against in silence," Gouillon said in a post on "X," alongside a photograph of the documents for both registrations. The registration of the "state" as owner during the land harmonization procedure, without the consent of the Serbian Orthodox Church or a prior court proceeding to determine ownership rights, is not in accordance with the regulations of the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ and can be legally challenged, the Republika Srpska Administration for Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs /RUGIPP/ told SRNA.
