CVIJANOVIĆ: STRONG SUPPORT FOR REPUBLIKA SRPSKA MOI'S MEASURES
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MARCH 3 /SRNA/ – The BiH Presidency Serb member Željka Cvijanović emphasized that she strongly supports the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry's decision strengthening security measures due to the possible spillover of the crisis caused by the violence escalation in the Middle East.
"We take this situation very seriously, especially considering that the US CIA announced in August last year that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps /Quds/ operates in BiH," Cvijanović posted on X. Cvijanović pointed out that in recent months there has been an increase in public manifestations of antisemitism in the Federation of BiH, which, among others, were condemned by officials of the US Department of State and representatives of Israel. According to her, the history of terrorist attacks around the world and BiH involving its citizens, as well as the links of numerous individuals from BiH with terrorist groups such as the so-called Islamic State and Al-Qaeda, call for additional caution. "Because of all this, I consider the preventive police measures to be absolutely justified, with the aim of protecting the security of all citizens of Republika Srpska, their property, as well as public institutions," Cvijanović emphasized. The Republika Srpska Interior Ministry has intensified security measures in order to respond in a timely manner and prevent potential terrorist attacks in the territory of Srpska, particularly near the Jewish Cultural Centre in Banja Luka and toward other Jewish communities.
