CVIJANOVIĆ: THERE WERE NO MIGRANT CAMPS IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA, RESPONSIBILITY TOWARD CITIZENS DEMONSRATED
WASHINGTON, MARCH 6 /SRNA/ – The BiH Presidency Serb member Željka Cvijanović said at the panel "National Sovereignty and Foreign Migration" in Washington that there have never been migrant camps in Republika Srpska, stressing that this demonstrated responsibility toward citizens.
"You already have challenges in every society. Why would you add something like that? This is the way we fought against it," Cvijanović stressed at the panel "National Sovereignty and Foreign Migration". In a video published on X, she pointed out that Republika Srpska, which makes up 49 percent of BiH, has never accepted or organised camps for migrants. "But there are certain problems when it comes to Brussels. Their approach was that we should all be well-mannered, be kind hosts and actually show our big hearts," Cvijanović stated. She stressed that this is not about showing a big heart, but about demonstrating responsibility toward one’s own people. "Because your people elected you, you are accountable to them. You want to have power of institutions and you want to prove that they are strong institutions. That is how we dealt with this," Cvijanović emphasized. Cvijanović and the Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Radovan Kovačević, participated in the panel "National Sovereignty and Foreign Migration" within the summit of the Alliance for Sovereign Nations at the invitation of Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the United States House of Representatives.
