AROUND 20 TOURISTS WANT TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY; REGULAR FLIGHT TO SARAJEVO SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 16

ABU DHABI, MARCH 9 /SRNA/ - The Ambassador of BiH to the United Arab Emirates /UAE/ Bojan Đokić told SRNA that about 20 tourists want to leave the country, and that a regular flight from Dubai to Sarajevo is scheduled for March 16.

Đokić stated that half of them already have tickets with the company FlyDubai, some for Belgrade and some for Sarajevo. "In addition, around 100 residents, people with the citizenship of BiH who are in the Emirates, have expressed a desire to leave the country in the near future," Đokić added. He stated that more than 200 residents have expressed a wish to leave the country only in case the situation worsens. "That means that at this moment they do not want to leave the country, but only if the situation escalates. The security situation is identical to what it was seven, eight, nine days ago when all of this began," Đokić said. Đokić added that in the past few days, a total of 339 people have left the Emirates for Sarajevo on two regular commercial flights operated by FlyDubai. He added that around 90 more tourists departed on other flights to various European cities, primarily Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, and similar destinations, while about 50 to 60 people departed on evacuation flights to the region and to Romania. He explained that the countries that organized evacuation flights did so only for tourists who were stranded in the Emirates, not for their residents.
