TRUMP JR.’S VISIT SHOWED THAT SARAJEVO DOES NOT CONSIDER SRPSKA TO BE IN BiH
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 8 /SRNA/ – The Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović assessed the visit of the son of U.S. President Donald Trump Jr. to Banja Luka as successful and useful, emphasizing that the event showed that official Sarajevo does not consider Republika Srpska to be part of BiH.
Cvijanović noted that a series of various inaccurate interpretations and speculations appeared in Sarajevo regarding the event, but that not a single comment stated that such an important figure had come to BiH. "Everything that takes place on the line between Republika Srpska and the outside world, which includes the United States, is an agreement between elected representatives and people who have the political strength to negotiate something on behalf of Republika Srpska," Cvijanović explained. She stated that Republika Srpska has been engaged in a strong diplomatic offensive for a year, using its opportunities to communicate and allow the truth to find its way. "Our goal is the path toward truth and justice, and the removal of the injustice under which we had to live, through the application of double standards toward us in Republika Srpska and toward the political elite in Sarajevo," Cvijanović said. She stressed that official Sarajevo has for three decades used all foreign policy tools to discredit Republika Srpska and the Serb people. "The time has come for those who make decisions to understand that BiH, by its structure, can only be decentralized, and that awareness is growing. It is to our benefit to speak about this issue," said Cvijanović, who is also the SNSD deputy leader. She adds that Bosniak political elites are incapable of dealing with their own problems and instead reduce all politics to confronting the SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, using and manipulating the judiciary for that purpose. "That represents a serious problem for the entire country," Cvijanović stressed. Commenting on SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović’s statement that Dodik will not be the leader of SNSD and will not have the right to sign the electoral list, Cvijanović said that Izetbegović should first explain whether he is in coordination with some court and whether someone told him that. She also stressed that the establishment of the Office for International Relations of Republika Srpska is justified, adding that Srpska wants to build as many bridges as possible with people who can be useful for its development, as well as for security, peace, and stability. "Republika Srpska is ready for the new time that is coming, in which we want to have as many bridges as possible built with people who can be useful to us for economic development and political understanding, as well as for security, peace, and stability," Cvijanović said.
