OSTOJIĆ: TALKING ABOUT LAW AND JUSTICE FOR SERBS IS ILLUSION
TUZLA, MAY 15 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Labour, War Veterans and Disabled Persons Protection Radan Ostojić has stated today in Tuzla that it is an illusion to speak about law and justice for Serbs in BiH, as after 34 years the crime committed against JNA members, known as the Tuzla Convoy, has still not been prosecuted.
Ostojić said that the Tuzla Convoy crime was organised, that there are both those who ordered it and those who carried it out, but that there is still no justice. He says he will demand from the judiciary of BiH to finally prosecute this crime, expressing hope that divine justice will reach those who ordered and carried out the attack in Tuzla. Ostojić told the press that if the victims had been Bosniaks, the perpetrators would likely have long since been imprisoned. The minister of labour, war veterans and disabled persons prtection, who attended the commemoration marking 34 years since the crime against JNA members in Tuzla, said that Serbs every May 15 come peacefully and with dignity to Brčanska Malta to pray for the souls of the innocent soldiers who were murdered, preserving a culture of remembrance so that such crimes never happen again. He also asked why a large security presence is always present at such commemorations for Serb victims, pointing out that no one today uttered a single insulting word or carried any offensive symbols. "If there are security measures, it means there is a risk that someone will attack us, and therefore that someone hates us and that we are not welcome there. Then the narrative that we are welcome everywhere and that this is a free country completely falls apart," he said. Ostojić believes that one day, when Republika Srpska and the FBiH become independent, it will be much easier to understand each other and create a future perspective for future generations. On May 15, 1992, Muslim paramilitary forces attacked a JNA convoy in Tuzla which, based on a previously reached agreement, was supposed to leave the Tuzla barracks. In the attack, 51 persons were killed, three more later died from their wounds, while 78 were injured.
