LINTA: LATEST SNV BULLETIN CONFIRMS USTASHA IDEOLIGY AND NDH ARE CROATIA’S FOUNDATIONS

BELGRADE, JUNE 20 /SRNA/ – The chair of the Association of Serbs from the Region, Miodrag Linta, stated that the latest 2025 bulletin of the Serb National Council /SNV/ indicates a rise in ethnically motivated physical violence, threats, pressure, and hate speech directed against Serbs, which confirms that the Ustasha ideology and the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/ remain the foundations of Croatia.

Linta said these were not isolated incidents but rather an organised campaign by neo-Ustasha forces in Croatia, which clearly demonstrates that the country has failed to come to terms with its Ustasha, genocidal, and criminal past. He pointed out that hate speech manifests itself through, among other things, the widespread appearance of offensive graffiti, false accusations portraying Serbs as provocateurs, calls for discrimination against Serbs, rehabilitation of the Ustasha regime and its symbols, denial of the genocidal character of the NDH, and death camps. He also recalled the denial or minimisation of Serb victims of genocide, as well as the glorification of the Ustasha ideology and Ustasha war criminals. “Hate crimes are manifested, among other things, through physical violence against Serbs and the desecration of memorials dedicated to the National Liberation War and Serb victims of genocide during the Second World War,” Linta added. He stressed that Croatian authorities do not prosecute those who order or commit acts of hate and violence, despite the fact that such offences carry prison sentences of up to three years. “It is about, Linta added, one of many pieces of evidence that Croatia is violating one of the fundamental European values, i.e. the rule of law, the Association of Serbs from the Region announced. Also, he noted, Croatia keeps refusing to adopt a special law prohibiting and criminalising the use of Ustasha symbols, the denial of concentration and death camps, and the glorification of Ustasha criminals.
