KRUNIĆ AND DANILINA ADVANCE TO SECOND ROUND OF WOMEN'S DOUBLES AT US OPEN

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - Serbian tennis player Aleksandra Krunić and Kazakhstan's Anna Danilina have advanced to the second round of the women's doubles at the US Open.

The third-seeded Krunić and Danilina defeated Chile's Alexa Guarachi and Egypt's Mayar Sherif 2-0, winning the sets 7-5, 7-6 /9-7/, after 120 minutes of play. Krunić and Danilina are among the main contenders to reach the latter stages of the tournament, having reached three finals as a team in the last six Grand Slam tournaments - twice at the French Open and this year at the Australian Open.
