CHINESE DEFENCE MINISTRY CRITICISES JAPANESE TV SERIES “VIVANT”
BEIJING, NOVEMBER 2 /SRNA/ – China’s Ministry of National Defence has criticised the second season of the Japanese television series “Vivant”, accusing it of deliberately distorting historical facts, China Media Group reported.
The Chinese Ministry of National Defence published its criticism of the second season of the Japanese series yesterday in a video titled “Who Is Trying to Turn Black into White in History?” The series, produced by Japan’s leading television network TBS, has sparked criticism in China over what has been described as its negative portrayal of China and its glorification of Japanese espionage operations. “This television series once again demonstrates that certain forces in Japan continue to attempt to distort facts through cultural content, damage China's reputation and fuel anti-China sentiment,” the Ministry stated. The Chinese Ministry stressed that historical facts cannot be falsified, nor can responsibility for crimes committed be shifted onto others.
