"SERBIAN DAYS - MONTH OF SERBIAN CULTURE IN HUNGARY" TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 4-24
BUDAPEST, August 29 /SRNA/ - The manifestation "Serbian Days - Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" will take place from September 4 to 24 in Budapest and Szentendre.
The official opening will be held at the Ethnographic Museum in Budapest on September 4 at 6:00 p.m. with the participation of numerous performers, and high-ranking officials from Hungary, Serbia, and Republika Srpska are expected to attend. Performers at the opening will include the Choir of the Church of St. George in Budapest, ballet principals Luka Dimić and Eszter Kovács, and the Serbian Cultural Center Venac from Budapest. As special guests, the String Orchestra of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska will perform. The main organizer of the event is the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Buda, under the patronage of the Office of the President of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Culture of Serbia. The program will be rich and diverse, featuring exhibitions, concerts, performances by various choirs and music groups, theater plays, film screenings, and a range of cultural and artistic events. Events will take place at different venues, including the Tekelijanum and the Ethnographic Museum in Budapest, as well as the Serbian Church Museum in Szentendre. Numerous partners and institutions are involved in organizing the manifestation - the Serbian Church Museum in Szentendre, the Tekelijanum, the embassies of Serbia and BiH, the Serbian Cultural Center Venac in Budapest, the National Theatre of Republika Srpska, the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments from Petrovaradin, Srpski ekran, the Artists' Association Krug in Budapest, as well as prominent individuals - artists, scientists, cultural workers, and political figures. According to the organizers, "Serbian Days - Month of Culture in Hungary" is of exceptional importance for preserving national identity, maintaining and nurturing Serbian culture and tradition in the diaspora, promoting Serbian culture, and presenting Serbian spirituality, tradition, and contemporary creativity to the wider public in Hungary, with the aim of strengthening ties between Serbs in Hungary and their homelands /Serbia and Republika Srpska/ and Hungary.
