GALINAC: IT IS TERRIBLE TO LOSE THREE CHILDREN IN 15 DAYS

EAST SARAJEVO, September 9 /SRNA/ - It is terrible when you raise three children and lose them within 15 days, said Mirjana Galinac, the mother of the first civilian victims of NATO aggression, Radenko and Radmila Galinac.

EAST SARAJEVO, September 9 /SRNA/ - It is terrible when you raise three children and lose them within 15 days, said Mirjana Galinac, the mother of the first civilian victims of NATO aggression, Radenko and Radmila Galinac.

"It was devastating for me when I saw what happened to my children," Galinac told reporters in East Ilidža. At the Grlica cemetery in the municipality of East Ilidža, a memorial service will be held today for Radenko and Radmila Galinac to mark the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of NATO Aggression against Srpska. Radenko and Radmila Galinac were killed on September 9, 1995, in the bombing of a bridge near Serb Sarajevo, while returning from a memorial service for their brother who had died 15 days earlier. During 16 days of bombing on the territory of Republika Srpska, NATO forces dropped more than 1,000 bombs, including Tomahawk missiles, with a total explosive weight of about 10,000 tons. In addition, depleted uranium munitions were used, the effects of which the population continues to feel today. The Day of Remembrance for the Victims of NATO Bombing in Republika Srpska is observed on September 9, since on that date in 1995, a NATO pilot killed Radmila and Radenko Galinac on the destroyed bridge near Semizovac, outside Sarajevo. The initiative to commemorate this date was launched in Andrićgrad on August 26, 2018, at the proposal of the Republika Srpska News Agency - SRNA. The commemoration is organized by the Government of Republika Srpska's Committee for Fostering the Tradition of Liberation Wars.
